Elizabeth S. Booma, MD Chief, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Established in 2007, Newton-Wellesley Hospital's Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry provides high quality and compassionate psychiatric care to children, teens, and families. Our dedicated team of child psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers provides evaluations and treatment through our Child Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic. We consider the many aspects of a child’s life that may be contributing to a problem and actively involve parents in evaluation and treatment planning. In addition to ongoing psychopharmacological treatment to patients, we also offer support and education for parents.
Though we do not have an inpatient child and adolescent psychiatric unit at NWH, our division provides consultation to the Vinik Family Pediatric Emergency Room and in the Pediatric Inpatient Care Unit. Many of these children have complex psychiatric and medical needs and require careful care coordination from psychiatrists, social workers, pediatricians, and school administrators.
Parents, pediatricians, school staff, and other providers interested in referring to our clinic should call our Triage Social Worker at 617-243-6328 or email smaxwell@partners.org.
